The table lists everything Guru Flow stores on your device, in the web app, on its sign-in and help pages, and in the Outlook add-in. Most of it is the add-in's, in its pane's browser storage. We store only what the product needs to work, one cookie that remembers your theme, and the widths you give the add-in's columns. We use no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to accept or reject.
| Name | What it is for | Type | How long | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
guru-theme |
Remembers the Light or Dark theme you chose, so every Guru product on insolvency.guru opens in it. It holds only the word "light" or "dark", and nothing that identifies you. It is not set while your theme is System. | Appearance (a cookie; or browser storage, where the cookie cannot be kept) | 1 year from your last choice | Guru |
msal.* |
The web app: keeps you signed in with your Microsoft 365 work account while the tab is open. Several entries, written by Microsoft's sign-in library (MSAL): your account, the access that lets the web app read your queue, and the state of a sign-in in progress. | Strictly necessary (browser session storage) | Until you sign out or close the tab | Guru Flow |
msal.* (add-in) |
The Outlook add-in: the same library's entries, noting a Microsoft sign-in in progress, and only when Outlook cannot sign Guru Flow in to Microsoft itself. The add-in holds your Microsoft access in memory and writes it nowhere. | Strictly necessary (browser session storage) | Deleted as soon as sign-in finishes, or when the window or pane closes | Guru Flow |
guruflow_owner |
The Outlook add-in: says whose the items below are, as a short code worked out from the Microsoft account Outlook uses (never the address itself). If somebody else opens Guru Flow in this Outlook, every item below is deleted first. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_firm_settings |
The Outlook add-in: a copy of your firm's Guru Flow settings, as an admin saved them, so filing can go on while SharePoint cannot be reached. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out; a copy older than 30 days is not used | Guru Flow |
guruflow_settings_saved |
The Outlook add-in: the time your firm's settings were last saved in Admin, so an open pane reads them again. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_favourite_locations |
The Outlook add-in: the folders you keep as favourites. Their names and SharePoint addresses only, never anything filed in them. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_recent_locations |
The Outlook add-in: the last 20 folders you filed to, for File to last folder and the list of recent folders. Their names and SharePoint addresses only. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_catchup_since:… |
The Outlook add-in: when Guru Flow last caught up on a mailbox's email (one item per mailbox, the name ending with the mailbox), so that on opening it files only what arrived since. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_catchup_lock |
The Outlook add-in: makes sure only one part of Outlook (the pane or a ribbon button) catches up at a time. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | While a catch-up runs, 3 minutes at most | Guru Flow |
guruflow_catchup_tries |
The Outlook add-in: counts failed attempts to file an email automatically, so that after three it is marked for you to file by hand. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until the email is filed, or you sign out | Guru Flow |
guruflow_removed |
The Outlook add-in: emails you took out of a folder, so they are not filed back there automatically. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | 90 days, or until you sign out | Guru Flow |
guruflow_column_declined |
The Outlook add-in: the SharePoint libraries where you chose not to add Guru Flow's columns, so it does not ask again each time. | Strictly necessary (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
guruflow_width_… |
The Outlook add-in: the widths you give a folder's columns and the panels in Browse SharePoint, so they open at those widths next time. The name ends with the column or panel. | Appearance (browser storage) | Until you sign out of Guru Flow | Guru Flow |
__Host-guru-flow-correlation.… |
The Outlook add-in's sign-in window, on Guru Flow's server: checks that Guru's reply answers a sign-in you started from Guru Flow. | Strictly necessary (cookie) | Until the sign-in finishes, 15 minutes at most | Guru Flow |
__Host-guru-flow-nonce.… |
The Outlook add-in's sign-in window, on Guru Flow's server: stops a captured reply from Guru being used again. | Strictly necessary (cookie) | Until the sign-in finishes, 1 hour at most | Guru Flow |
__Host-guru-flow-dialog |
The Outlook add-in's sign-in window, on Guru Flow's server. Guru Flow keeps your Guru sign-in on its server, not in this cookie, so it is not normally set at all. | Strictly necessary (cookie) | Until the sign-in window closes, if it is ever set | Guru Flow |
Older versions of the Outlook add-in kept your sign-in in browser storage under these names. Guru Flow no longer writes them, and deletes them wherever it finds them:
gf_tokengf_token_expirygf_upngf_tenantId
Signing out of the web app also deletes anything the app itself stored.
To remove what the Outlook add-in keeps, sign out of Guru Flow in Outlook: select
Account and settings (the ⋯ button), then Sign out. That deletes every item
whose name begins guruflow_, the remembered widths included. They are also
deleted if your firm takes away your Guru Flow seat, or if somebody else uses Guru Flow in
this Outlook.
Outlook keeps three of Guru Flow's settings with your mailbox, through Outlook's own add-in
settings, not on this device: guruFlowSendPrompt, your firm's choice of when to
ask before sending an email that won't be filed; guruFlowFiledConversations, a
list of filed conversations, as codes, not their content; and, on an email you are writing,
guruFlowFileTo, the folders you chose for it.
Guru Flow uses no IndexedDB and no offline cache, and its help and cookies pages store nothing. When you sign in, Microsoft's own sign-in pages set cookies on Microsoft's sites, under Microsoft's privacy statement; they are not set by Guru Flow. Outlook and its add-in framework may keep their own data for add-ins; that is Microsoft's, and Guru Flow does not read it. Signing in to Guru happens at Guru Accounts, which sets its own cookies, listed on Guru Accounts' Cookies page. The Guru Flow desktop app keeps its settings on your computer, not in a browser.
How to remove the theme cookie
Choose System in the Theme switch. That deletes the cookie, and Guru then follows your device's light or dark setting.
